Intensive Outpatient Program

Chemical dependency is more than just a problem. It is a disease that is chronic, progressive and possibly even fatal. The Center for Addiction Medicine Intensive Outpatient Program is designed to provide a viable treatment alternative to those individuals affected by alcohol and other drug dependencies for whom time-limited counseling once a week is not sufficient. It is also recommended as a follow-up to inpatient residential treatment.

In this program, we use a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of addictive disorders blending treatment services. These services include group, individual and family therapy. In addition, information on codependency is incorporated through ongoing educational sessions.

Separate and distinct programs are available for adolescents and adults.  We utilize the Hazelden "Living in Balance" program for adults and the Matrix Model program for teens and young adults.

The Intensive Outpatient Program consists of group counseling three times a week for six consecutive weeks and one family group per week. Individual sessions scheduled as deemed necessary by the counselor and Dr. Levy. Upon completion of the program, patients receive 6 months of continuing care sessions. It is also recommended for those individuals for whom inpatient residential treatment is not necessary.
