About Dr. Levy

Dr. Levy

Dr. Michael S. Levy, Founder and Medical Director of the Center for Addiction Medicine, has spent over 40 years in the medical field dedicating himself to the treatment of alcohol and drug dependencies. In 1995, he established the first medical practice in Nevada specializing in addiction medicine. He then incorporated the Center for Addiction Medicine in 1998 to provide a full range of services to patients in need of confidential, individualized treatment for alcoholism and other drug addictions.

Outpatient Program, Las Vegas

In addition to his private practice, in 1998 Dr. Levy established an intensive outpatient program in Las Vegas. Clinically validated by Hazelden, one of the world’s best known and most respected private treatment organizations, the 8-week intensive outpatient program aids in the successful transition from a life of chemical dependence to a life without alcohol or drugs.

As medical director of the program, Dr. Levy oversees outpatient treatment for adults and adolescents with substance abuse problems, as well as programs for families affected by chemical dependency.

Clinical Director of Multiple Drug Treatment Centers

Previously, Dr. Levy served as the clinical director for adult chemical dependency programs at Montevista Hospital in Las Vegas and as the clinical director for the Local Addiction Recovery Center in Phoenix, Ariz.

His past administrative positions include clinical director of the Addiction Medicine/Dual Diagnosis Program at Northbrook Hospital in Brown Deer, Wisconsin, associate medical director of the Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, Wisconsin and medical director of the Recovery Center at Phoenix General Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. Levy,

Thank you very much for your presentation to the Las Vegas Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators on Substance Abuse. Your depth of knowledge and experience made for an educational and entertaining session. Many of our members have dealt with substance issues with friends, family, or co-workers. Your insight into addiction assisted not only those with past experiences, but equipped all of us with a greater understanding of addiction for future interactions. We hope to have you speak to us again on other related topics.
