Substance Abuse Disorder is more than just a problem: it is a disease that is chronic, progressive, and possibly even fatal. The Center for Addiction Medicine Intensive Outpatient Program is designed to provide a viable treatment alternative to those individuals affected by alcohol and other substances. This level of care is also recommended as a follow-up to inpatient residential treatment.
The goal of the Intensive Outpatient Program is to provide therapy, education, information and experiences that will help our clients in the transition from a life of addiction to a healthy, productive life without the use of mood altering substances.
To accomplish that the Center for Addiction Medicine uses a holistic approach which looks at the person as a whole.
During active addiction; physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual balance were disturbed or lost. We focus on helping to bring that balance back to our clients.
Group sessions are conducted in nonjudgmental, safe and supportive environment. Program sessions provide counseling and education about; addiction as a brain disease, triggers, relapse prevention, and recovery. Throughout the program our clients acquire practical skills that help them deal with feelings and emotions. Our graduates leave the program with set of healthy coping skills and knowledge that will assist them in their recovery process.
Center for Addiction Medicine treats addiction as a family disease. The program provides tools to family members to help them recover and build solid foundation in hopes to reintegrate the addictive person back to family and society.
We utilize the Hazelden “Living in Balance” and SAMHSA Matrix Model as evidence base practice tools.
The Intensive Outpatient Program consists of group counseling three times a week for eight consecutive weeks and one family group per week. The program also includes weekly individual sessions and family sessions that are scheduled by the primary counselor as needed.
